Amarjeet Sohi to seek re-election in Ward 12

2010
I have been proud to represent southeast Edmonton for the past three years. I am proud of what we have accomplished for the southeast, and I would be honored to continue to serve this community. Ward 12 is one of the fastest growing parts of Edmonton and I am excited by the opportunity to support a thriving, diverse community. I've worked hard on Council to advocate for the southeast, and I want to see this work through.
Council has approved several major projects for the new Ward 12 this term, including:
- The new recreation centre and library for the Meadows.
- A new transit centre
- Improved bus service to new neighbourhoods
- Major road upgrades
- A new fire station
- Recent approval of my motion regarding future LRT extension to Mill Woods
These projects are more than just bricks and concrete. They are services that help make our communities vibrant, welcoming, and safe. I ran for Council to help build strong communities, and that is still my passion.
I have been honored and proud to represent the whole southeast. If we were remaining in the six-ward system, I would have proudly run to continue to represent the current Ward six once again. I have lived with my wife and daughter in Silver Berry, located in the new Ward 12, since 2007. I have lived in southeast Edmonton since 1981. I am proud to be a part of this amazing community.
