2010

The Roads Design and Construction Branch of the Capital Construction Department will be taking part in a Public Information Session for the Meadows Community Recreation Center to present the proposed plans for the 17 Street and 23 Avenue roadway upgrades, as part of the development.

17 Street (23 Avenue to Silverberry Road) and 23 Avenue (17 - 24 Street) will be upgraded from an existing two-lane rural standard road to an urban standard roadway. Proposed plans for both the ultimate design of the roadway, as well as the first stage of construction which is scheduled to occur in 2011, will be presented. The first stage of construction will include the construction of the first two lanes of the ultimate roadway and associated turn lanes. Proposed construction activities along the project limits in 2011 will include new curb and gutter, new roadway base and pavement, a shared use path along the west side of 17 Street and the north side of 23 Avenue, two access roads from 17 Street into the Meadows Recreation Center, a transit loop road in front of the Recreation Center, storm drainage for the arterial roads and the transit loop road and boulevard landscaping.

You are invited to an Information Session where City employees will provide information and answer questions on the proposed construction and project timelines.
